To the students I would like to narrate a few lines from Zen tradition: Those who keep their minds open to new concepts- those whose cups are always empty- will always move to higher levels of achievement and fulfilment.” – Tarun Katiyal, COO Big 92.7 FM
“While there is a lot that the real world teaches you, only a good institution can prepare you to handle those experiences and MET played the role of my mentor. MET broadened my perspectives, not only on management subjects, but also on personal qualities like being a good listener, ethical conduct, and most importantly, being humane. Proud to be a METizen.” – Sandhya Shetty, Heads Research at IndiQuest Research
MET believes in giving back to the society. It is also an NGO in Special Consultative Status with the UN (ECOSOC). Sensitising the students towards social causes through MET Seva CSR programmes is also one of the unique factors of the institute.
In an age where it is easy to lose hope, which has led to a lot of uncertainty and questioning in almost all areas, MET is the first and only B-School in the country that has set up a Centre for Organisational Positivity. Through this centre, MET is studying the measures taken by organisations, using innovative practice to build and sustain positivity, aiding in bringing about a conducive atmosphere at the workplace. This would help them build models that could be replicated by varied organisations and institutions to foster a change that would help retain talent and build commitment. MET’s empathy for this section of the social order has also led them to adopt a village at Waliv, Vasai and offer the women there training in areas that would empower them to earn a living.
MET has pioneered a path breaking initiative an ‘Industry Student Skill Development Platform’ that will raise a new generation of young and dynamic leaders, role models and achievers for India. This initiative is all set to redefine excellence and professionalism, by providing a highly productive class of workforce that would soon become the benchmark in India Inc. It goes beyond mere employability and transforms students inside-out, enabling youth to be their best. It creates measurable transformations, in the areas of leadership, communication, confidence, public speaking and professionalism. In short, a programme at MET is certainly the sure step to a successful career.
Three decades in the life of an educational institution may only represent a speck, in the canvas of professional education in the country. And yet, the interaction with thousands of youth, through the participative learning process at MET has enriched and strengthened their capabilities. MET has a sound understanding of the pulse of the youth and an awareness of what needs to be done to rise up to the challenges of the future.
