Candidates are allowed three retakes (reattempts) of the exam. The best of the three scores are considered for admission.

Eligibility

  • Candidate must have completed graduation under 10+2+3 or four years of education pattern from any stream

  • Secured not less than 50 percent aggregate in the final year of graduation

  • Candidates who are awaiting results or are in their final year of graduation are also eligible to apply for NMAT. Admission is granted on a provisional basis until the graduation mark sheet and certificate of the qualifying examination are submitted.

Age Limit: There is no age bar to attempt the exam.

Maximum Attempts: Candidates can attempt the NMAT exam 2022 3 times (including the ‘no shows’).

Work experience: Having work experience is not mandatory to apply.


Process

The following are the steps to Register for NMAT 2022:
  1. Create an account on the official website
  2. Provide the requested details and your photo ID that will be used for identification on the day of the exam.
  3. The name & DOB entered should match the details on the ID Card.
  4. Choose the schools to send the scores under the “Schools Preference” section
  5. Up to 5 programs will be included in the registration fee (An additional fee of INR 200+ applicable taxes will be applied per additional program)
  6.  Candidates must upload a photograph that is similar to the one on the Photo ID. This will be included on the admit card.
  7. Choose the exam mode (Test Centre or Online Proctored at Home)

(Note: Once booked, one cannot reschedule to a different mode for the same attempt. However, one can choose the exam mode again, while scheduling the next attempt.)

NMAT by GMAC paper consists of three sections. Exam Pattern

No new changes are expected to be introduced in the exam pattern this year. NMAT by GMAC will continue to be a 120-minute (two hours) exam with three sections: three sections – Language Skills, Quantitative Skills, and Logical Reasoning.
Candidates can take NMAT by GMAC up to a total of three times. The best of the three scores will be used for admission.

The test comprises of the following sections:

 

Language Skills

36 questions and 28 minutes

Quantitative Skills

36 questions and 52 minutes

Logical Reasoning

36 questions and 40 minutes

Total 108 questions and 120 minutes

According to the official notification, “The NMAT by GMAC is computer-delivered and gives each candidate a randomly generated test from a pool of questions, delivered one-at-a-time. The number of questions, difficulty levels, and the time limit for each of the sections are predetermined and, under normal administration conditions, are the same regardless of when and where the test is administered. Candidates have a choice of selecting the order/sequence of the test sections.”
Also, NMAT by GMAC test-takers need to review their answers before moving to another section of the exam. Once the candidate ends a particular section, all answers are considered final.
Candidates can choose a date, time and location of exam according to their convenience.
Here are a few important details about NMAT by GMAC:
1.Three Attempts: Candidates can take the test three times in an admission cycle – one exam and two retakes.
2. Choosing the section order: Candidates can choose the order of sections in the test. For instance, one can opt to attempt QA section first followed VA and LR.
3. Reviewing: You can review your answers at the end of each section so you always have the opportunity to revise if you’re not sure of your original response.
4.No negative marking: “The system of no negative marking is in line with global practices,” stated an official GMAC release.
To help create a preparation strategy, here are some tips:
Ask yourself questions like what subject to prepare at what time, how much time to devote to it, when to start revision and so on.
If you are confident about any topic or subject, then do not waste your time practising odd questions. Try to work upon their shortcuts and mock tests.

Application Form

The application form is available at this URL (click to visit). Candidates willing to appear for NMAT by GMAC must note that the application form needs to be filled in carefully and correctly. Authorities will reject the applications that are not filled in completely or accurately.

Candidates can register for the exam online. For the same, the above mentioned links need to be followed:
1.Visit the official website
2.Click on the ‘Register Now’ tab on the official website home page
3.The candidate will be redirected to a page where he/she needs to enter the required details
4.Once the details are filled in, the candidate will receive an authentication email that will be sent to the registered ID
5.Next, candidates need to validate their email ID and complete the online application form wherein details relate to personal, educational and work experience will be required
6.The next step is to choose the schools and MBA colleges under the ‘Programme Details’ section where NMAT scores will be sent. One can select up to seven programmes are included in the registration fee. Post seven programmes, applicants need to pay an additional fee of Rs 200 + applicable taxes for each programme.
7.After successful registration, candidates will receive their unique NMAT Registration Number. Thereafter, one needs to pay the applicable exam fee via Debit Card/Credit Card/Net banking and Demand Draft. Candidates need to issue Demand Drafts in favor of Graduate Management Global Connection (India) Private Limited payable at Gurgaon and send it to:

8.After successful registration, candidates will receive an email with unique NMAT Registration Number. This number for all future correspondence with GMAC.
9.Candidates will then receive their username and password to login to the official website and schedule the test on a preferred date and location subject to availability.Test Takers with DisabilitiesThis year, GMAC has made special provision for test takers with disabilities. If requested, GMAC will help with necessary accommodation at a test centre.
“Test takers who wish to request for special assistance must fill the details in the online application while registering. The test takers must scan their Disability Certificate and upload to the registration application in order to be approved for necessary accommodation. Each application will be reviewed on a case-to-case basis. Pearson VUE will contact the candidate to schedule his/her test at their preferred test centre, date and time with the approved accommodation and will ensure proper assistance is provided to them,” said GMAC.


Admit Card

Candidates appearing for NMAT by GMAC will get access to the admit card at least a week before the date of exam. Candidates can download their admit cards online from www.nmat.org.in, once available.
“Test takers will receive an e-mail informing them about payment receipt and successful registration. Test taker can download / print payment receipt and Admit card from the registration log-in. In case a test taker has not received the same, he/she should contact the NMAT helpdesk (09213027791 / 09213027792). The test taker will receive another e-mail from Pearson VUE on the e-mail id mentioned in the registration form mentioning a unique username and password which will enable him/her to schedule the test in the Pearson VUE website,” informs the official NMAT

On the test day, aspirants need to arrive at the centre 45 minutes before the test appointment. They need to carry their admit cards along with a confirmation email printout and valid identity proof (Passport, PAN Card, Voter’s ID Card, UID/Aadhaar Card, Driving license).
Admit Card will contain various details such as registration specifics and photograph. In order to take NMAT by GMAC, one is required to produce the Admit Card along with other necessary documents on the day of the test. Candidates will be able to print their admit cards for NMAT by GMAC with photograph after the payment is accepted by GMAC.
Please note, candidates will need to get their admit cards signed by the test administrator at the designated place on the day of the test. Also, while retaking (and rescheduling) NMAT exam, one needs to retain the original Admit Card (that one carried for the first / previous attempt), signed and stamped by the test administrator.
“You will be required to produce the ‘same’ Admit Card and will have to get it signed and stamped at the test centre where you appear, for you to retake the exam,” states the official website.
“Schools may ask you to present a signed Admit Card to verify that you have completed NMAT by GMAC application process. Please check that your printed photograph on your Admit Card is clearly visible. If the photo is blank or not clearly visible, contact the help desk on nmat.org.in or email nmatsupport@gmac.com to update the photo. You will not be allowed to test if the test administrator is unable to match your photo. Please remember to carry this Admit Card to the testing centre on the day of your scheduled exam. If you fail to do so, you will not be allowed to test. In addition to this Admit Card, you will be required to present other identification documents (original and non-expired) as specified on nmat.org.in to be allowed to test. Make sure that the test administrator signs the Admit Card at the designated place. Please retain the signed Admit Card until your school admission process is complete,” further added the website.
