National Emblem

In any competitive exam, you may find simple questions related to the nationals of a country for example capitals, flags, and emblems. Questions about emblems are very common in general knowledge-based exams. So, it would be a good idea to go through some of these important facts so that you don’t miss out on the opportunity of scoring these easy few marks.

What is an Emblem?

A national emblem is a seal that is reserved for use by a nation-state or multi-national state as a symbol of that nation. Many nations have a seal or emblem in addition to a national flag and a national coat of arms. It depicts an expression of an idea, of people, of a historic event, etc. It can be a graphic representation, but also a music or whatever other artistic representation. An emblem is important to gather people together and federate them behind something bigger: a concrete beacon that tells people where they are from, who they are, and where they should go. What makes unity, what people have in common, far above the individual interest.
