Woxsen WAT-PI Experience 1:
G.V.Ashwith- MBA, Woxsen university, Hyderabad
Why and How Woxsen?
With dual accreditations, Woxsen has shown to be one of the finest private universities. The international exchange program they provide crafts an edge among other universities and shows the international standards they avail. A 200-acre campus with an infrastructure that’s world class, syllabus that’s very intriguing & knowledgeable, faculty who are emboldening and with placements that are assured, fascinated me, and pushed my interests to pursue my MBA here. I learned about Woxsen via a Woxsen alumnus who works at the company where my mother works in fact there were two of them in the department of marketing, being a marketing enthusiast myself and with the feedback they’ve granted I decided that its Woxsen.

How did I get into Woxsen?
To begin with, I contacted Woxsen’s admissions staff to obtain an outline of the admissions procedure. They provided me an application form to fill and booked my slot for the Woxsen Aptitude test, the entrance exam for Woxsen. The test was a MCQ based one with quantitative, logical, and comprehensive sections with an added behavioural check test. The test was very rational in terms of complexity, I did well in it as I was a B Tech guy and given number of aptitude tests. Don’t worry non tech peeps can also crack it with proper preparation. I received a call after 3 days from admissions team to convey that I’ve proceeded to Personal interview round, and it will be held in a week’s time.
I was apprehensive about attending the PI round since I had no idea what to anticipate. I started preparing by firstly checking out the whole website of Woxsen, getting to know about the culture and major details about the university. As it was in the pandemic the PI was online, a zoom meeting. The panel consisted of two professors, one of the members touched up on my skills and awareness in general and domain. The other was getting a note on my technical skills. Despite being nervous, with the way they interacted calmed me down and helped me to have a great 35 minutes of interaction. The panellists were bolstering which amplified my confidence. The interaction and passion I’ve shown would be a factor that got me in with a scholarship.
So, that’s how I commenced the journey to be a competent management professional at Woxsen.
Woxsen WAT-PI Experience 2:
Vinodh Katta, PGDM, Woxsen School of Business
Heard my name (Mr. Vinodh Katta) from the Reception…
I walked in with loads of thoughts running in my mind!
I was greeted by panelists with a gentle smile and a warm welcome!
As they already had my Resume & SOP – I thought they would ask something related to my Resume.
But the question was, “ Hi Mr. Vinodh! Can you please tell us something which is not there in your Resume?”
This was an icebreaker for me. They gave me the platform to talk about myself, my dreams and my career orientation that I couldn’t contain in the resume.
The next thing asked was, “ Why Woxsen?”
Like many others I had planned to study abroad, but I also thought about researching here in India to see if any B-School gave me that same edge. I listed down all the points that I wanted my future college to possess. to reach my expectations:
- Best in class Faculties – International faculties/ Industry experts/Academic experts
- Good Accreditations & Rankings
- Asia’s finest Infrastructure & labs
- Right pier to pier learning
- Sports Facility centres & Student Clubs
- Curriculum – which changes as per the current trends
- Industry interactions
- Internships
….& I found Woxsen as the answer.
The Interviewer pointed out that I did not mention Placements in my Expectations. To that my answer has always been clear, “if I can use the above resources well – then i will be able to groom myself and crack the Placements anyway!”
The Interview further progressed to Current affairs, Politics & Economics. Concepts in my Engineering field which I answered with the best of my knowledge.
At the end of the interview, they gave me the platform again to ask anything I had in mind. which is great because as students you tend to have a lot on your mind by the end of the interview, a little time gives you that chance to not only make a last impression but also ask the questions you want to that will help you take an informed decision about tour career.
The line that affirmed my decision of taking an admission at Woxsen was : “Woxsen is preparing to be in FT Global Rankings & it will happen through Students like you!”
Woxsen WAT-PI Experience 3:
- Amogh S Jajee, MBA
Growing up in a family that runs an educational institute, I understand the importance of education in a person’s life. The education of a person shapes the way he lives; considering formal higher education, quality of learning is a vital component a student seeks there are thousands of institutes in India that offer an MBA, but not all institutes are equal. I was researching for some good institutes for my MBA; and found Woxsen University, a young university that was rapidly growing and I decided to peruse my MBA at Woxsen. The process for admission included an SOP, WAT (Woxsen aptitude test), and a PI round. In my SOP, I described what I liked about the university and why I wanted to be a part of it.
WAT was similar to other aptitude exams like CAT which was conducted online. I got my results in a couple of days, and my PI was scheduled. PI was originally meant to be an online process, but I requested my admissions officer for a physical interview on campus so that I could have a look at infrastructure and thankfully it was arranged. PI started with the interviewer getting to know me and my interests in general and later there were a series of technical questions based on the specializations that I was interested in.
Within 5 days my results were announced, and I was really happy that I was selected and also bagged a scholarship of 50%.
Woxsen WAT-PI Experience 4:
- Digvijay Yallampati MBA
Woxsen, the college which was on my mind since a long time when I went to the bank below the corporate office for audits. I used to see people going into the office with nervousness and coming out equally nervous, sometimes crying. Long before that I wanted to pursue my MBA and cracking the interview of the college seemed like a big task. I went into the corporate office and filled my application there itself after enquiring about the admission process.
Admission process was a simple one as it had only two rounds, an aptitude test (Woxsen Aptitude Test-WAT) and Personal Interview (PI). WAT was very easy for me to crack as I am a CA final year student and used to practice aptitude to concentrate on accounts. The real deal was the Personal Interview as I was completely unaware of the questions that will be shot at me. I understood why the students used to be nervous both before and after the interview when I went to the corporate office to face my PI. It felt like entering a battlefield.
I was in a state of unrest as I wanted to crack the interview at any cost and get into the college. There were three panellists, two of them to test my domain knowledge and one who asked basic questions. As I wanted to take Finance and Marketing, questions were asked from those domains only. There were questions when I had to question me on taking CA. the interview went on for one and a half hour. I breathe a sigh of relief as soon as I came out of the interview chamber but was equally stressed about my selection.
I waited for my result and hoped that I received a letter which read my selection into the college. For the next week after the interview till I received my offer letter, I maintained my optimism even though at times I was becoming pessimistic.
The joy knew no bounds after I received my offer letter and thus, my actual journey with Woxsen started.
Woxsen WAT-PI Experience 5:
- Meghana C MBA
I had taken a year break to decide whether to go for master’s in science or business. The moment I decided to take business, my go to option for Woxsen without a second choice. The college was also suggested my one of my UG professors.
My journey with Woxsen started much before the admission process started. The moment I saw the campus while travelling to Zaheerabad, I fell in love with it. I had taken the campus visit opportunity and showed the campus to my parents as well. A world-class infrastructure in the middle of a village that too a residential one is something worth giving a shot at is what I felt.
I chose Woxsen because the business school was at its best exploring and experimenting with various courses, syllabuses and competitions gives the exposure much needed for application of knowledge and learn many things at the same time.
The process started with filling out the application form and then an aptitude test, Woxsen Aptitude Test (WAT). The level of difficulty of the test was not as I expected it to be. The moment I thought the question was easy, it turned out to be the most difficult one.
After qualifying the WAT, a Personal Interview (PI) was conducted. I believe it was conducted to access the quality of the candidate and know the kind of students the management is taking in. I was asked various questions on my background, my subject knowledge on marketing, HR, finance and operations, strengths and weaknesses, interests and hobbies, aims and goals, etcetera. That is the moment I felt how entering into a corporate world feels like and how the interviews take place during internships and placements. After the interview completed, I was also suggested to take operations as one of the majors as it fits my profile.
Today, I am glad to have chosen Woxsen and I can proudly say that I am a proud Woxsenite!
Woxsen WAT-PI Experience 6:
Rithika Nagpal – MBA, Woxsen University, Hyderabad
I was working with Microsoft during which, the pandemic broke out. We had to work from home. Since there was no commuting to office, I used that time for some self-reflection, during which I thought of upskilling and higher education.
During my research on best colleges to pursue MBA, I came across one of my old-time friends (an alumni from Woxsen) who introduced me to Woxsen University and its contemporary education there. As I got to know more about Woxsen, I was free of my confusion and channeled by efforts & focus on entering into Woxsen university.
Now, I was also anxious to visit the Woxsen Campus to get a complete tour of the college, know more about the faculty and the curriculum of the program, which was going to shape the next 2 years of my life. And what fascinated me about Woxsen University or what I was desperately looking for from a campus point of view were these factors: campus away from the hustle and bustle of the city, eco-friendly campus with a widely spread lush green landscape. Woxsen had it all and I knew for sure this is what I wanted.
The visit to the campus made me extremely confident & focused to join Woxsen and headstrong to crack the WAT (Woxsen Aptitude Test) at any cost!
I no more entertained the thought “What if I don’t get through the WAT entrance exam” , I didn’t give myself an option, there only a one plan for me – plan Woxsen! My focus was to become a Woxsenite.
I gave the test and after 2 days I got a call to attend the Personal Interview Round (PI) round, I was excited and nervous at the same time. Excited that I passed the test and nervous for my upcoming PI round. Also, to mention the PI round was on a virtual platform, which I gave from a location convenient to me. Finally, my turn had come to be interviewed by 2 panelists from Woxsen University!
As mentioned earlier, I had work experience with Microsoft. In the initial part of the interview, I was asked questions about my work experience. I comfortably managed to answer these questions. The interview further progressed to some technical questions and some questions pertaining to current affairs. From here on, the interview was getting intense, and opinions were being shared across.
The expectation to what it takes to be a Woxsenite was put across to me by the interviewers, it was challenging to hear a role of a Woxsenite. I was game for this challenge!
I was glad to put across my thoughts and appreciate the patience of the panelists. My involvement in the interview was so intense that it broke the shackles of my nervousness. Thanks to the interviewers for their patience and kindness while interviewing me. And the interview concluded.
I was anticipating the results on a positive note. I got the call from the admissions team and guess what?! I was not only selected but also received the highest scholarship of 50% My hardwork and perseverance had paid off!
This boosted my confidence and added a lot of positive energy in my personality development. I was determined to embrace this new journey, to make a lot of memories, to make a better ‘ME’, and to add value to Woxsen and to myself!
And thus began my journey to becoming a well-rounded Management Professional, starting at Woxsen University!

The interview further progressed with questions depending on my inclination. I was asked challenging questions like Strategic tools I would apply for a small-scale Business organization, Reasons for why and how a company would choose Tradeoffs to make their Business models successful etc. Such questions were not only thought-provoking but also forced you to think on your feet! One had to be well read to answer these questions.
Takin cue from my SOP, I was also asked If I had any leadership experience before. As a proud Rotarian in my previous University, I shared my contribution and various activities done for the society. By this, I found myself talking corelating my experiences, what insights I draw from them and how I plan to implement them in my career!
In my technical round, being from a commerce background I was to demonstrate my understanding of the specialization I am opting for. Then the conversation furthered to my extracurricular interests, I spoke regarding our family Business and my startup idea.
I was made comfortable form the point go and hence was not nervous during the interview process and could answer all the questions.
