Summary
Common Management Admission Test is a national-level computer-based management entrance test. The test is conducted by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). It is a three-hour online test that is conducted in a single session to evaluate the candidate’s ability across various segments like Quantitative Technique, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, and General Awareness. CMAT score is accepted by all AICTE-Approved Institutions/University Departments/Constituent Colleges/Affiliated Colleges.
CMAT is usually held in January but due to COVID-19 things have changed and the exam might get delayed in 2022.

Eligibility
The eligibility criteria for CMAT is:
1.The aspirant should be a graduate in any discipline
2.Final year students of graduate courses (10+2+3) are also eligible for CMAT, provided the results are declared before commencement of admission
3.There’s no age limit for CMAT
4.The candidate must be a citizen of India
Process
CMAT comprises four steps:
STEP 1: Application process
To apply for CMAT, candidates need to register on the official CMAT website as a new user. On successful registration, a login ID will be shared which can be used for all login purposes.
STEP 2: Admit Card
CMAT admit cards will be available for download on the official website, as per the schedule. Registered candidates can download their admit cards till the day before the exam.
CMAT exam held in online mode on the scheduled date. The duration of the exam will be 180 mins and additional 30 minutes will be allocated to the candidates who opted for the optional section. The candidates will have to solve 100 questions in MCQ format. The candidates must reach their exam centre an hour before the commencement of the exam.
CMAT result will be declared by AICTE on the scheduled date. The candidates can download their scorecards from the official website. CMAT scores are valid for admission to all AICTE approved Institutes/University/Colleges. To apply for CMAT, candidates need to log on to official website of CMAT.
Exam Centers
CMAT is one of the few all-India common management aptitude tests which allow the test taker to choose exam date and centre as per their convenience. The process of booking exam slot and centres will be done while filing the application form for CMAT.
Dates and test centres will be allotted on “first come first served” basis. Actual allotment, however, will be subject to availability of the slots in a particular city. The exam is usually held on two days, but last year it was held on one day. The second day was kept reserved in case of any unforeseen situation.

General Knowledge
Students are advised to follow the leading newspapers to stay updated on current affairs. A daily habit of spending 30 to 40 minutes on newspapers is a good long-term investment. For static General Knowledge, students can use any good reading material and memorise as much as possible.
Exam Pattern
CMAT exam is held for 180 minutes. The test comprises of hundred questions divided in four sections: Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension and General Awareness. There’s negative marking of one (1) mark for each wrong answer.

1. At the test venue, each and every candidate will be seated at a desk with a computer terminal and will be provided with a scratch paper for calculations.
2. After the test, one must leave behind the scratch paper at the desk.
3. Rough work cannot be done on any other paper/sheet, as nothing will be allowed inside the testing room.
4. No breaks are given during the test.

To apply for CMAT, candidates need to register on the official CMAT website as a new user. On successful registration, a login ID will be shared which can be used for all login purposes.
Registered candidates will have to login to fill the application form. While filling the application form, aspirants need to select dates and three cities (test venues) for online examination in the order of preference.
Thereafter, candidates will be allotted dates and test centres on “first come first served” basis. Actual allotment, however, will be subject to availability of the slots in a particular city.
Candidates can pay the application fee via Net Banking / Credit / Debit Card through www.aicte-cmat.in. One can also opt for Cash Payment through challan generated online and cash deposited in any branch of State Bank of India (SBI).
Test Fee
Test fees for General and OBC candidates are Rs 1400 + Bank charges, while for SC/ST/PD candidates it is Rs 700 + Bank charges.
“Test Fee once remitted shall not be refunded under any circumstances,” informed an official notification.
Points to keep in mind while applying:
1. Fill all the fields with correct information
2. Do not leave any field marked mandatory, empty
3. Check all the information entered before submitting. Once submitted the form cannot be edited
4. Upload a recent passport-sized photo of self and a copy of scanned signature
CMAT Exam Fees
The CMAT officials have proclaimed that the exam fee will not increase for CMAT 2021. Below is the list of CMAT Exam Fee for different categories:

1) Online: Candidates can make their exam fee payment using Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Net Banking. After the payment is successful, they will receive a confirmation email and SMS.
2) Cash Payment: Candidates can make cash payments only at the designated branch of SBI. But this option is available to the candidates who are living in India and would appear the test in India.

CMAT admit cards will be available for download on the official website from the date notified in the official schedule. Registered candidates can download their admit cards by using their registered email ID and password.

The candidates are advised to check the details and take two print outs of the CMAT admit card. In case of any discrepancy or inability to take a print out, the candidates must contact CMAT helpdesk at the following phone number

It is mandatory to carry a copy of the admit card to the exam centre. Candidates not carrying their admit cards will not be allowed to appear in the exam. Thus, they must download their admit cards as hard copies of the same will not be sent to anyone.
The candidates are advised to keep their admit cards safely with them till the admission process is over.

CMAT Results
NTA will release CMAT 2021 Result on February 5, 2021. The result will be out in the afternoon between 4-5 PM along with the score card. You can download the score card from official exam website on the result date. NTA will release the CMAT result 2021 along with your CMAT Score card 2021. There shall be no provision for re-valuation/re-checking of the CMAT Score.
