The institute has set a record of placing 517 students in just 17 Days for PGDM batch 2020-2022, with an average salary of Rs 15.25 lakh per annum and participation from 136 companies.
The average salary for the top 25% of the batch stands at Rs 20.64 lakh per annum. The highest package received this year is Rs 29.5 lakh per annum. More than 50 students have received offers above Rs 20.0 lakh per annum. The institute has set record of 100 % placement for this batch.
IMT has revamped its application and admission process for the 2-year full time PGDM programs for its three campuses, i.e. IMT Ghaziabad, IMT Nagpur & IMT Hyderabad under the common admissions process for 2022
For Admissions 2022, IMT will be shortlisting candidates under three categories. The shortlisting will be done on the basis of
- Candidates with Exceptional profile
- Candidates with Exceptional work experience and
- Candidates with High test scores.
Relaxation on Cut-offs at IMT for exceptional profile and exceptional work ex candidates
This year with incorporation of new process of shortlisting and selection for PGDM batch 2022-24, IMT will be relaxing test score cut offs for its programs for candidates who have exceptional profiles and/or exceptional work experience. The details of the same are provided in subsequent paragraphs.
Shortlisting process for Admissions 2022
Candidates will be shortlisted for the admission process basis meeting basic eligibility criteria for PGDM program as listed by AICTE. In addition to this, test scores, sound academic track record, good profile and work experience (if any) will be considered for shortlisting.
For IMT Admissions 2022, IMT has revamped the process to bring in 2 additional criteria for shortlisting in addition to the test scores. The same are as follows:
- Exceptional profile
- Exceptional work experience
- High test scores
Exceptional Profile based selection:
In addition to meeting basic eligibility criteria and sound academic scores, the candidate should have at least one of the following capabilities/competencies:
- Bachelors in any discipline (as per AICTE basic eligibility criteria) from a reputable and premium undergraduate college/university/institute* within India.
- Bachelors in any discipline (as per AICTE basic eligibility criteria) from a reputable and ranked undergraduate foreign university*
- Have represented national/international* level teams’ in sports
- Other exceptional skills or talent which can be proven via Govt. certified documents, public awards or rewards.*
*The validation of documents and final shortlisting of candidates’ basis above exceptional profile criteria is under the discretion of IMT and as per IMT’s internal assessment, ranking, and selection process. The final decision is binding and cannot be changed under any circumstances.
Exceptional Work experienced candidates:
In addition to meeting basic eligibility criteria and sound academic scores, the candidate should:
- Be Working/ have worked in leading national/ foreign multinationals*
- Have a minimum of 2 years (24 months) of post-graduation full time work experience*.
*The list of companies under which the exceptional work ex candidates are being considered are as per IMT’s internal discretion.
** Internship, articleship, Part Time etc work experience will NOT be considered.
Test score based:
In addition to meeting basic eligibility criteria and sound academic scores, the candidate should:
- High* test scores in CAT/ XAT/ GMAT/ CMAT**
*the test score cut offs is subject to change each year, due to the pool of applicants.
**CMAT is considered for IMT Nagpur and IMT Hyderabad campuses only.
The above 3 criteria will be used for shortlisting candidates for the admissions process. The final selection process comprises of the following:

- Diversity in terms of education. Non-engineering candidates from reputed and ranked institutes/colleges/universities will get an advantage in terms of merit so that class diversity is maintained.

IMT Ghaziabad PGDM, PGDM, PGDM Marketing, PGDM Finance and PGDM BFS- 88 percentile in CAT OR XAT, 630 in GMAT
IMT Ghaziabad DCP program- 85 percentile in CAT OR XAT, 600 in GMAT
IMT Nagpur and IMT Hyderabad PGDM Marketing, Finance and PGDM programs- 70 percentile in CAT OR XAT, 500 in GMAT, 85 percentile in CMAT.

To apply for IMT Ghaziabad’s two year PGDM program, applicants must be registered for CATOR XAT OR have taken/taking the GMAT. In the case of the candidates applying on the basis of GMAT and score is not provided, processing of application will be provisional, subject to IMT receiving the official GMAT score on or before March.
